Donīt leave the rear stabilazer away, itīs even more important than the front one |

You need the two of them. Never never never use only the rear one. That would have a bad result at some point. _________________ www.super2cv.com |

they are only off for painting, the front one is also off, and the axle's are fully cleand painted with rx5 now, soon rx10 in gloss black
stabilazers will be gloss red.

About 13 years ago I was onboard of 2cv Super which had only rear stabiliazer assembled. It went really nicely into long corners at the speed of 120-130km/h. The owner of the car had plans to test it in airfield even in higher speed that will it start to lift the rear tyre in corner...Sadly the owner is nowdays "sailing in the better seas" so I never had change to ask that did he test it or not. In winter time he took the both ones always off because he said that the grip is better on snow in this way. I think he knew what he was talking about because he used to drive rally and ice track rally...even with 2cv.
But anyway I will test this same idea in my own super. I had 2009 the front one in use but I didnīt like it. Back then I didnīt have the rear one at all. Basicly in theory it would make sense to put only the rear one because in front the heavy GS packet is keeping the central of gravity quite low but in the back there arenīt the same kind of mass keeping the back movement stable. So in this way it could fit well to the back because it will cut down the movement.
Future will show the results
edit: typos

hmm I don't agree with that
it's purpose is to keep the weight of the engine under controle
most cars only have one in the front
the mass of the car in cornering is in the frontleft or frontright
and it keeps you from drifting or flipping over
the backend will follow
but maybe I see things backwards, who would know? _________________ https://picasaweb.google.com/bram.martsen |
