Hi Folks,
I noticed a few other UK people here getting into the modified 2CV craze.
So i thought i would join in too.
Im Matt and have owned 2CV, Dyane, Acadiane etc for about 15 years now but im about to take my first steps to modified 2CV.
I bought on e-bay UK a few weeks ago an ami super chassis fitted with a GS1220 engine and 4 speed gearbox. The body is a very rusty and nasty 2CV one. Here are couple of pictures........
The body is very rusty and wil be replaced by a dyane body (as its easier to fit into a standard dyane shape without lengthening)
I have a question on the suspension and ride heights, will a super chassis lower only on the tie rods a bit better than standard 2CV or will i get the turned wheels still at full lock and 'broken thumbs' ??
This is the bodyshell i intend to build onto the chassis when its been restored........
I have put my CX GTI turbo up for sale to fund the build of this super dyane. _________________ Too Much, is never enough. |

Hi Doc'
Welcome on board !
An Ami Super front axle is better, if you're just unscrewing the tie rod ends... the angles aren't the same as a 2cv axle...
But its still not the best of ways to drop an A type chassis... the arms need modifying (ask Champy2K for details about that)
Good project though, what are you plans regarding final look ?

Hi JoZef,
Yeah I know about Geoffs properly modded arms' just wondered if the super chassis was going to allow a little extra lowness or not.
As for final look, unsure. I was thinking satin black with moon disc wheels and a bit lower.
But as the front end of the dyane shell has a nice bit of 'patina' aging and set into the paint rust also wondered about that look.
First job get the car built, im not starting until the CX turbo is gone and i have some cash and space. _________________ Too Much, is never enough. |

Hi and welcome here!
Nice project you have!
As JoZeF said, there is also a Dyane in that style but copy something great is better than make something ugly _________________ www.super2cv.com |

Here something a like :
I mean colours! It's also mat, not so complicated to paint I imagine... It could fit welle on a dyane too!
(But I gave same Idean to Pascal for his Ami Super hihi) _________________ www.super2cv.com |
