Just posting some small changing,
Have started to look for bumpers and stuff.
As a can't lower it more in the front, smaller tires was the easiest way to go. So saab spare tires it was.
Next thing is to re-do the dyane body conversion, as it lays to much "above" the vw chasie. (as you barely can see on the pic.)
I also got my hands over a gsx1300r engine :S
should be running this summer.
Sorry for a poor picture
The wide rear fender really starts to bug me, thinking of just "hot rod" it? _________________ I |

I agree with the whole world: Do NOT take off the rear fenders! They look good. |

ok ok ok ok! I AM going to put down the tools nice and slow...
now, how about the fender? Does a 2CV (4/6, ak, aks) frontbumper sort of fit?
This one:

Why do you need bumpers?
It's nice and clean as it is. _________________ '79 2CV vert bambou |

I guess if you're going to fit bumpers the best idea is to fit Dyane bumpers ? _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

But not on a Dyane
The Dyane has a rounded front and thus a rounded bumper
The 2cv has a pointy front and therefore a pointy bumper
You have a Dyane with a VW engine/chassis, this is already nice and custom enough. If you have a VW chassis and engine with a far from original dyane body, it is neither a customized VW nor a cool Dyane.
This:
Is almost as nice as it can get in my opinion. It looks like a normal Dyane but some details give away that there is something spooky going on. The lowering, absence of bumpers, VW wheels, etc. The widened fenders can already be to much!
What I would do: normal rear fenders, original rear view mirror and chrome headlight rings. |

Yea, but...
wherever i go, people tell me "Cool car, high five!!!!11 is it old?!?" or "Wow! my dad also have an old renault!"
They dont know dyane. 1/20 ask me if it is an 2cv. Never met some one who knows its an dyane.
so if you do not know how it looks original, it becomes a whole different thing. Or am i wrong?
But at least a front bumper and one rear? :) _________________ I |

I would say, no bumpers and only for to change: original fenders + mirror.
It looks cool like it is now. |
