Need a bit help with my Ami Super again, is the rear brakes different to those on 2cv? If they're different, does anyone know where to buy drums and brake shoes? I know they're LHM and not DOT, but I don't think I need to replace the brake cylinders at this point.. _________________ '71 2cv 6 · '74 Ami Super Berline · '70 Ami 6 Service (project) · 2(3) AZU projects · 2cv since '93 · C5 v6.24 · GPicasso 2.0 hdi · 307cc |

Hi dude,
yes, Ami super rear brakes are different than 2cv's. They are bigger. Then , drums and brake shoes are different. Even the break cylinders are bigger. I'm not sure, but I think Acadiane rear brakes are close from Ami Super's.
Note that the estate has a supplemental part for the rear brakes, a brake distributor.
To find this spare parts, you'll certainly have to look at the usual providers, spare parts manufacturers, resalers, Citroën garages, ...

Thanks, I can confirm that the brake shoes are equal to 2cv. And now my brakes are fine again after fitting new shoes and greased up the moving parts. The old brakes on right rear wheel were metal to metal, but not for so long so the drum was OK. And the cylinder was stuck on one side, but now it is fine _________________ '71 2cv 6 · '74 Ami Super Berline · '70 Ami 6 Service (project) · 2(3) AZU projects · 2cv since '93 · C5 v6.24 · GPicasso 2.0 hdi · 307cc |
