Hey Malte, thanks for the kind words mate .
"Screw the front down", i guess you mean drop the front suspension a little???
At the moment i cant do that because the threads are seized up and need freeing off.
The owner of the car is going to have a go at lowering it a little when he gets it back to his home by heating up the rods

Tony,
maybe best if you could persuade him not to use that approach, since more often than not the result will be that they're stuck even tighter.
'Backing' the necked section of the tie rod end/shackle with a lump hammer, whilst hitting it on the other side with a hammer usually works. It shocks any rust free in the threads and expands the outer just enough to start things moving.
I'd agree that it needs lowering at the front, since once the car is loaded up with passengers, camping gear and so on, that will lift the front end even higher...

yep, i once try to turn the thread by heating it and what i achieve is to break the rod in two _________________ Snail Forum... distilling good taste.

happend here also.
You can better heat it first and then cool it down with WD40 or so. After cooling down try to make it turn. |

I agree, on my car it worked fine.
The rod were damned frozen. Few light shocked with a hammer and it was done...

HE'S FINISHED
Got Dave out of the driveway today and took some final photos.
On Sunday, John and Julia take him home and the next time you will see him is at the Registers Day in England and then at the World Meeting In CZECH . Hope to see you all there guys(and girls)
Now Dave is out of my garage, the RED BARON is to go in next for an engine and gearbox change, new tyres and a re-paint desert colours
