|
|
Hello you guys,
Because of my project I'm thinking of mounting disc brakes on the wheelside. But not on the rear-axle, but on the frontaxles!
Did anyone did this before?? Or has pictures of it? Or, better, knows how to??
Thnx _________________ www.ctd-gammel.nl |

DON'T EVEN THINK THAT!!! It's going to be very dangerous, when You press brake, it will raise front end at stoppers far before there is enough braking power..!
You can "simulate" this with rear brakes, when reversing... _________________ Make it today, tomorrow it's probably illegal... |

The TPV Prototypes were like that I think
it didn't go into the production 2cv in 1948... _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

I was thinking in that before, the solution is to provide another arm, and a "floating" spindle, just like in a parallel suspension system.
For this it will be necessary mount another front axle in the top of the present, with his arms, and mount a ball joint to the extreme of the arms for the spindle to rotate.
Just a thought. _________________ Snail Forum... distilling good taste.

That solution will work fine, it is like same as it is in springer front fork with motorcycles... _________________ Make it today, tomorrow it's probably illegal... |

Would it be a problem? Peugeot speedfight has single arm Yamaha GTS1000 has, same way as 2cv has. The force of newton will be enough to keep je down. But I see more problems with the force on the steering rod when braking in a turn, more straign on the pivot pin and on the bearing. _________________ 2CV, with Visa turbo charged |

They do work as said just before, cause brake is floating type.
Its not fixed on arm. Here is one floating solution:

with gts1000 calliper is mounted directly on pivot, same as you would have to do with 2cv. _________________ 2CV, with Visa turbo charged |

mmh your picture is showing exactly a 2cv swing-arm with pivot not? Only difference I can see is that 2cv is 1 steel bearer and this GTS has two ball bearers for pivotting. So far only problem I can see is that the load on the one 2cv pivot bearer is so high that it will not last very long. As opposed to the GTS which spreads the load to lower and top bearer. Maybe I am using the wrong words Olli? that could be.
PS great picture _________________ 2CV, with Visa turbo charged |
