Hi all,
Got a little question regarding the front brakes.
To restore them and to clean them I took them off the gear box. Once done, I put them back together but now I have big doubt. Before putting the 2 blocks back together aren't we supposed to put some kind of seal or blue past seal like the locktit or some thing as indicated on the picture bellow?

In a break repair kit, there is this o-ring located in this picture above the 'ra'-letters. This is the seal you need to have in place to avoid leak.

Is that all I need to check? Cause as far as I can remember, mine was in good shape.
So no other blue past seal to put on it?

if the old one is in a good condition ( not hard, no cracks ) you can use it again.
just clean it and off course the contact surface.
i also reused the old ones, no problem if they are ok. _________________ in rust we trust... |

Ok, that's good then... I might take them off again to do a perfect clean of the insde surface and make sure that thoses joins are ok...
I prefer to check everything now to avoid leaks as much as I can...

Hi,
it's also worth noting that with the earlier type there was a small steel tube between the caliper halves, which 'sometimes' is lost when the calipers are separated...
The rubber seal is the same for both types, though.
