Anyway when the 2cv engine has been created, there was no leaded gas.
Leaded gas appears in the late 60's, I believe. _________________ www.super2cv.com |

don't know exactly how it works, but this was what my 'engine overhauling company' told me.. He does a lot of rebuilding and overhauling of DS engines. _________________ www.customs-classics.nl

Gasoline or petrol or benzine or whatever you wanna call it is not one substance. It contains different carbohydrates that react at different speeds (and several dopes that do not add to the combustion). Some additives can prevent the most volatile reactions in the combustion chamber from happening too fast, keeping temperature controlled. Lead is among them. Unfortunatley, it had some nasty side effects when it came into the environment. _________________ Don't ask me what I think of you 'cause I might not give the answer that you want me to.

that also depends on where and at wich place you get your gas. I've had lot's of trouble with the cheap 'white label' fuel in my Xantia, as soon as i started using Total or BP again, the troubles of bad idle and lack of power where gone.. _________________ www.customs-classics.nl
