I have no intention to lower car (not yet ).
I don't have the original screws, but I bought imbus M10 x 100 who is half with tread then it will be cuted on 30mm and turned to M9.
It will all happen today, so I will quickly know the results. I hope that will not be a problem _________________ france 3 |

No, but they are quite easy parts to make without drawings... _________________ Make it today, tomorrow it's probably illegal... |

I am about to make this conversion, but i have some questions about the gs 1015 gearbox... will the Axel ventilated discs fit the 1015 gearbox, with modification to the calipers of course, or do i need modified 1220 calipers. Do 1220 calipers fit the 1015???
Cheers

Hello Harley,
all GS/GSA calipers are the same, just the handbrake adjustment is different. Poor G models are poor like 2CV, better G models with nice a nice adjustment feature (s~8mm). But this is an add-on part, the caliper (cast body) itself is the same.
Axel calipers are wider caused on the wider Axel discs. (And piston sealent is made for DOT, not LHM!).
All G-type gearboxes (GS, GSA, Axel) are interchangeable (relating brake mountings), even some LN/LNA have got the holes/threaths and machined surfaces.
But Visa Club gearbox has a completely different gear box housing, useless in Cit A models.
BUT:
If you use Axel discs you'll need either Axel calipers or an adapter for GS/GSA claipers to make the gap wider, haven't seen but should work.
Also you need longer screws and maybe the spring for the hand brake pads must be modified.
If you use 2CV driveshafts furthermore (which makes much sense) you need adapter plates, regardless Axel or GS/GSA discs/calipers.

I looked at a GS 1015 Gearbox today and it's calipers and mounts are different to the GS 1220... 1015 looks like 2cv calipers. But the internals are interchangeable! I plan on using 1015 gears in a 1220 box...

Hey, someone was asking about my adapters for 2cv driveshafts.
I search all pics I found. These adapters are quite interesting cause they are
located in not regular place. They are between plate where brake disk comes
and gearbox. So the drive shaft is bolted on its original place.
So the adapter is having 2cv drive shaft bolt pattern and dreads on holes.
Plate and disk need to be drilled those 6 holes too.
Heres the pics:

My 5speed box has no rear cover (lost) so I have to do my own by simple 0.7-1.0mm sheet of mild steel.
I heard of 'some' died 5 speed boxes which were lifted above steering rods because lubrication was not enough --> maybe an outside oil pump (EFI fuel pump?) could feed the seperated 'chamber' with extra oil.

and narrowed 5th gears rotors.
Does this mean he made the 5th speed tooth wheels smaller?
If yes, the width of common 2CV6/Dyane/Ami tooth wheels could be a number how much we need. I guess the GSA gear box was made for 70hp but not for 'poor' 35-45hp of some tuned flat twins.
Maybe something can be done with the gear lever too?

What I did:
In my Ami Super 2cv which I made in the early 90ies with 5 Speed and about 95 HP I took the back cover of te GS 5 Gear box and cut it the corners in an 45 degree angle as much as possible. Afterwards I closed this in a 45 degree angle by welding. The effect was that I - after a little work at the engine fixation - only hat to move the engine 1.5 cm to the front of the car without having any problems with the steering rodes. It was ok for more than 60.000 km than I sold the car.

so does a Visa/Lna 652cc engine work well with a 5 speed GSA/GSA gear box even tho the 652 has much less torque than the GS gearbox was designed for?
would a V06/630 652cc LNA engine and bell housing with a GS 5 speed not make the best possible set up for a 2cv?
is it not easier to modify the steering rods to go under the back of the gear box or do you have to shorten the gearbox it just seams like alot more work ....?
sorry if these questions have already been answered but some times things can become a little difficult to understand after translation
thanks guys |

what I read is that he had a 95 HP engine! so can't be a (citroėn) 2cil in my opinion, would be nice with a beemer engine
on cat's site you can calculate that for a good visa/ big bore engine a normal short 4 speed GS/ AMI super gearbox is on the edge of what is possible! I don't know how Jeroen did the calculations in the past, but in my whole carreer driving A-types he is always spot on with the results!
willt put that combination in my Pick-up, hope that I have enough power in the engine, also because I have wider tyres.... those give a lot of drag!
