..and please dont do that kind a scalloops. Made it in one color and
concentrate on details instead. Look example our VW topic, pile of
nice looking cars... and wot, no (f)lames or scalloops. What is with
these 80's scalloops and 2cv's anyway Neutral

That was what I was expecting for people to not like it, it always seems to happen on here. I will think about the ds hub caps.

Louis, I'm not a fan of the hubcaps either, however scalloops could work out really well.
Moreover try to make you design idea(s) in real pictures, that looks better straight away and gives a better impression of what it will look like in reality.

other suggestion from my side, lower your 2cv first off all (uppose you would like that in the end anyway). I think lowering it will put everything you design in better perspective/proportions.

Ciao, Bart

At the moment I have been painting the doors in red as I am using other pannels to do the scallops so if it turns out looking bad to the joy of some I can put it back to standard, but as soon as I have no doors hanging in my garage it will be low. :)

as I said I will think about the hub caps when it painted they are not for definet.

Its not about if you want vw or 2cv. That kind a scalloops are just sad.
Especially if you need to make them with colors that much contrast (typical
80's) I just tried to give some ideas to make nice 2cv. When building nice
looking car its not most important that grandmom from next house
understands that this car is modified. Modification does not need to be
so ovbious (like scalloops in complementary colors).

This 2cv is good example of modified 2cv. Normal person does not notice
that anything has been done, but there is a lot.

So if you wanna make your car look like a circus, you can. I just tried to
give some other ideas. Its not my car, so its not big deal for me anyway.
If you like it and want to make it, go on!

About DS hub cabs. I would say that they are too big. They are
from car 2 times bigger than 2cv. And they are made for 165 (?) tires, so
they will look too massive with 125-135 tires. Propotions go all wrong.

Those flames and scalloops you find from VW topic... Scalloops are kind
a 60's style and flames 50's. They bolth have nothing to do with those
horrible 80's things. And there is what, few hundred cars in that topic...
you find 2 examples. The point was not, if there is them or not. It was
more that you dont need them if you wanna make nice car, in that topic
there is shit load of nice cars where all "magic" is made with details. Neutral

I understand where you are coming from on the hub caps they are masive. If I was to do 50s or 60s style scallops what type do you think would look good on my car and with what colours.

Here's 10minutes "oldstyle" scalloop design.. But if its all what you are going
to do for your car i'm not so sure that if it will be so nice. If you are going to
keep your car to look like its from 80's, maybe those fat violet scalloops
do the job better... Rolling Eyes
I prefere 2cv rims much more than any full (citroen) hubcabs.
