Hi Lads
Haven't been on here in a while.
I have restored afew 2cv's since my lowered one.
But i am having a problem with the charlston im currently working on.
Basically i have no ignition. No ignition lights turn on and no power goes to the coil. I have tried joining the wires together at the back of the key switch but still nothing. When i brought power to the coil from the battery the car started!
Anyone know or heard of this problem?
Any help would be appreciated! |

Have you got a multi meter and what does it tell you?
Check if 12v comes to the ignition switch and if it is switched properly, cause maybe wires got mixed up, this can happen at the switch or at the light bar.
Does everything else work as it should?
You could also check for a broken wire form switch to coil.
Good luck! _________________ I like to play |

Hi Paul, a friend of mine just a similar issue on a 2cv and it turned out to be the big thick battery cable from the battery to the starter motor. It had a break underneath the plastic coating so he couldn't see it. Fitted a new cable and it works fine. You could try this possible fault by using a jump start cable connected to the battery and the back of the starter, see how you get on etc.

Problem sorted:
Bad connections in fuse box and dodgy connection.
Thanks Lads |
