today i had some time to organize my photo collection on the pc..
i found some early pics of my current project car!

84' az-l. i bought it 2007. it was really fucked ab, so i decided to make a full restauration. in fall 2007 i started with the body works..finished last summer.
since then i auverhauled both axles and the engine and a lot of other parts..

it took a lot of time to do all this, because i had no idea about iron work in 2007. i just started and tried to give my best.
because of the really rusty floor panels, i decided to make everythink new, but 5 cm channeld. ( floor = top of side-skirts ).

at the moment i'm saving money to buy all other parts i will need to complete the project.

next step will be buying a galvanized chassis, and putting everything together...

sorry for the bad quality photos. some of them are taken with my mobile-phone cam.

so let the pictures tell the story...

to be continued...

thanks. :)
welding looks only good if you don't stay close enough.

yes, i welded the windows, but i made every mistake you could ever make.
i welded to fast, so the whole area was buckling. looked really crap after that. a lot of spattle balanced that.

Good luck with it!
You can only learn by doing it.
And the color is mat black so it will cover a part of the mistakes that you say.
It's looking good.

a few weeks ago i got my new galvanized chassis.

i discovered that both bearings of the rear-arms are really fucked up.
i decided to put new ones in. i will also put new stainless steel brake pipes in.

now i only need to put everything together..hope to make the first ride in a few weeks!!

i finshed the chassis a few days ago. everything is installed now, new break stuff and so on.

i off course also had to shorten the shifter-stick, really short and sporty shift-way now! great fun! :)

here you can see the back. i don't want to hear that my led-backlights suck.i know that! it looks like darth vaider something... :)
i already bought some old 2cv lights, i will install them later...

her eyou can see the whole dirty car with already fittet front wing.
does not fit 100%, but i will do that later.

another one:

looks a little bit like a car by now :)

but still a lot of work to get everything german-tüv street legal.

i'll keep you up to date.

nice job, hope to see it complete soone, will you have rear bumper? rear section would (inmho) would look better ig you have used both, the top and the bottom of the rear door so that those 3 lines dont look som much cutt off beneth the door?

...and what about fitting a rear plate at the rear door? like Sahara 2cv Rolling Eyes

EDIT

like this one, but sort of more in the center of the right side of the door...I hope you know what i mean SOORY 'BOUT THE SIZE OF THE PIC!!!

my project is almost done.

there are a lot of small things which has to be done to make it street legal.

today i got some "transfer-plates" and made my first test-drive.
(here we need to get special plates and insurance to drive without "TÜV", This is just for 5 days).

some impressions(detail-pics will follow as soon as everything is done 100%)

==> nothing special, just a 2cv :)
