Chassis is stripped and off the to sandblasters today,
Question: Is it worth using 1mm U channel instead of 2mm?
I have facilities to bend 1mm but not 2mm...
How about welding U channel on the inside of the chassis as well?
Cheers

| Ofcourse you could use 1mm as well, if you than weld a same reinorcement on the inside you'd be about equally as strong as 1 2mm U section.
Good luck with the work! _________________ I like to play |

When it is 'Snail' and not just standard 2cv body, I don't want to get yelled at for having original looking car with performance mods, this is not a technical forum!
Thanks again Bart.

Chassis has returned from the sandblasters looking good, here is some pics!
Stripping the Chassis
Before and after welding the plates into place.
Here you can see the 'white' marks on the right side legs where we put heat to them to get the chassis straight, using a simple jig and a block and tackle from above.
more to follow shortly.
