Dont know what you mean with high

165/65/R15 is exactly the same diameter as 135/80/R15 originals but wider, so from side keeps the look, and from front or rear, i think it looks more settled in the road, not on ice skates.

I was thinking about 70-80 series tyres, but even if 165/65 is same height it
looks big on front anyways.

For Smart there should be tyres as:

Yokohama 175/55 and 145/65 and 155/60 Continental Eco.

Peugeot rims fit if you have AMI Super front axle or if you modify the steering rod ends

155 80 15 is too big for stock 2cv body on front (and rear, come to that)

and peugeot rims have slightly more outside offset, from what I've seen on the AZU

I stumbled across some drag racing rims on Ebay that could be an option... Slightly thinner rim at 3.5x15inch, but still correct for the 125/135 tyres, albeit they still need adaptors.

What do you think in the style department?

Nice found, but I think that they won't look good on a 2cv.
Just an opinion.

Yes but what does? I mean it's personal taste really, I prefer 2CVs as high off the ground as possible, with 155/80x15 or perhaps even 165/80x400, (would be great on say a Mehari).

Slammed ratrod A-series isn't my cuppa tea-

To me, the perfect choice would be either Pug 404 og widened old 400s-

But yes, i could be talked into a set of the Argentinian ones for the Mehari, but the freight would be ridicolous.

This forum is not of course all about that (especially not ratrod), but have you been thinking if you're in right forum?

I also think that those rims could look nice in 80's period correct Visa build.

Olli, the thing is that you guys know a lot of things about engine tuning. Things you can't find anywhere, except perhaps on French og Belgian fora hence in French.

I do like some of the lowered 2CVs, don't get me wrong.. But i bet that no matter what 2Cv forum you're on, there are things you like and things you don' like. I posted a link to alternative wheels, and i get (no offence), "they don't look right on a 2CV".. But, to me lowering doesn't look right either, so it's a matter of taste really.

I am primarily here for the tech stuff concerning engines and gearboxes. But Olli, if you want me to leave i'll leave..

No offence taken,
The wheels looks just a '80 to maybe '90 style.
Maybe this would help you:
It's the intro for the forum that Etienne has written:

Olli, Joseph and I created this forum to talk about custom 2CVs but not all of these. So check that out :

The SNAIL forum is about simple, lowered, old looking style (pre 70's) custom 2cv.

Tuning, 80's custom cars or other stuff just for the fun don't belong here.

This is an international forum. Here we speak in english. Translators can help only if you have good basis.

If you don't have a SNAIL style 2cv, you are still welcome to register but you have to introduce yourself :herel

So now, let's work on your project, let's post here, let's drive!

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

So you're welcome, but now you know what it's all about Wink

As i said, taste can't be argued, if it's rims or whatever you do to your car, it's your car. I found this forum as i searched for "Visa 652 tuning", "652 2CV" or similar. It's a great forum, and i love to see what people are doing to their 2CVs, lowering, turbos, topchop, BMW engines what have we. I like some of it, some of it I don't like. One of my friends is on here with his 2CV, i have even tried it and find it cool. (And fast too.)

Do I want a slammed 2CV myself? Yes, if it's a 24h replica....
Do i want a hotrod 2CV? Yes, slightly lowered at the front, bicycle style fenders (if any), relocated headlights (low and narrow), Smart 135/70x15 front tyres, rear ones whitewalled 155/90x400...Babymoons on red rims..
Ideally based on a Hoffmann or similar..

But right now i'm satisfied with sticking to my 2 sleepers the 652 Mehari and the BX GTI break.

Are these rims steel or aluminium? Light alloy would be nice.
These rins are also 5inch, 2cv rim is 4inch and the pug 404 rims like I have are 4.5inch so there may be some clearance and turning issues with these.
Nice find.
