Hey Jozef
Is it also possible to use the complet 2cv front axle with 2cv arms?
Then later I can change the arms because I don't think I have time now to the arms. It also would be the first time and gues I have to made a special clé.
Is there an advantage to the ami front arms?
Robin
Anybody photo's how he put a feul pipe on the ami feul tank? |

It's totally possible to use the complete axle.
I think the AMI 8 has bigger diameter fixing points for the shock absorbers. not sure. you will have to use the AMI 8 axle end plates (where the shock bolts onto the arm)
AMI 8 have bigger wheel bearings and maybe are stronger... I'm not quite sure.
But it's OK to keep the 2cv Axle I guess...
just use the AMI Endplate so you can fit the roll bar and shocks _________________ "That bumper fits there like sunglasses on pig" O.E.

Sorry, on AMI 8 they are same diameter as 2CV, the bigger diameter fixing points plates are AMI super and late Akadyane ones,
that's why they are used on 2CV Cross and off-road 2CV,
so you can use stiffer shocks (rear AMI super on both front and rear, on AMI chassis, of course)
With 2 CV plates, you have small diameter shocks and no anti-roll bar.
With AMI8 plates, you have small diameter shocks and anti-roll bar.
With AMI super plates, you have big diameter shocks and (bigger) anti-roll bar.
With late Akadyane plates, you have big diameter shocks and no anti-roll bar. _________________ 0 to 70 in the same day! |

Hello Robin,
nice to hear that you could manage to fit steering + 2CV body on Ami chassis!
I have no picture of OEM fuel pipe in Ami8. I can't remember (done 2000) that there was any strange thing.
I bought some meteres cheap copper Øa=6mm line bended it to run near frame (fixed with OEM clips) and suspension. IIRC there is a hole near tank through frame sheets, I protected this part with a flexible tube over the fuel line. The line was too short (~20-30cm) so the line ends along the front bar of the chassis.
Have I misunderstood your question?
Today this old line is the return track of fuel (EFI). If you plan EFI too, prepare tank + frame for a 2nd line (at the other side of the car).
I heard that some advanced 2CV guys lead the fuel line (+ brake line?) through the frame!
Advantage: protection!
Disadavantage: in case of damage - unvisible. No chance to repair.

Hello Robin,
the original old plastic tubes are brittle and tend to make problems. It's sometimes possible that fuel does not drop out, but air is sucked in --> not easy to detect why egine doesn't start.
If you use copper, please pay attention to prevent vibrations of the line --> good fixing on frame.
I bought the tube/line in a shop for hydraulics (no LHM parts :) ), pneumatic and isndustrial tools, maybe xour local plumber knows a source.
I made some pics of the fill-in tube when I converted Ami to EFI, check the pics at http://megasquirt-de.serviceline.ch/success/user0001/install0001.htm#Kraftstoff
Is 2CV and Ami8 not very similar? Ami has a smaller ventilation tube prallel to the fill-in tube.
Do you want to use the bigger Ami8 tank?
The Ami fill-in cap holder device (fixed in fender like 2CV) has got a 'bypass' which is connected with the ventilation tube (check 2nd picture).
I don't know if 2CV and Ami8 fill in tube has the same diameter - or what is your problem exactly?

Hello Robin,
first three tasks to do:
» Ground
» Ground
» Ground
Add some ground connections, for example at black box housing.
» There is a not ducumeted test rotine for the sensors. Connect each of them with +12V and Ground and pass flywheel (or outside any grounded mild steel). Voltage should change when gap is narrow.
»Have I resomended to check ground?
» Check each wire for short cut AND resistance.
» Check contacts of poor black box plug/socket.
» Use a working black 2CV coil for testing.
» Simplify harness --> remove vaccum switch, maybe add some wires.
» To save crank energy you could send an stereo wave signal from PC soundcard to an amplifier (car radio) and feed the amlifiered signal to Black box. While cranking/running engine is simulated. this setup should be tuned on a running Visa system before! Download http://megasquirt-de.serviceline.ch/success/download/Soundsimulation.zip
» If never said, check ground!
So, now I'm rather Visa ignition exhausted. GOOD LUCK, damned Visa ignition...

Besides: how old is your fuel? My 2cv engine didn't want to run the other day just because the fuel was too old... only cost me about two days to think of that |

I think 123ignition has a version for visa. A friend of mine is going to try to run a visa engine with a standart 2cv 123ignition.

well my brother and me why tested al the wires and there are not broken.
The engine has been back together and tried to start But no succes.
It seems that I get it running as long that I powerd the starter.
Just for a coupel off seconds.
Maybe the carburator is not clean.
If there is fire on the spark then the computer works Not??
