I think thats made my mind up on the front lights, im certainly going to have a go at that, maybe with a second set frenched in under them. As for the rear lights, im thinking of extending the bootlid down to the bottom and putting lights into the wings, not sure what to do with the number plate then though. _________________

The whole car will be done in red oxide primer with grey flames with an airbrushed black outline. |
Hey, about the paint job. I'm not very sure of flames in general. I was exited
of flames in my early moped age when I was 12. To make good looking
flame painting is also really hard job, its really easy to make it look odd.
World is full of great ideas for painting. In my opinnion its good to use some
"real" color whit oxide red. when using 2 matt and greyish colors together
result can be a bit lame. You can get much more out of it by using some
other color than grey whit oxide red. and when I speak about "real" color I
dont mean bright yellow, blue, green.. Paint job is one most visible
modification in car building. Many times is good to paint car first just whit
base color, then drive and look it to make good plan to final paint job and
colors. Or just keep it in one color.
And yeh, this is just my opinnion.
Hope my message makes some sense.

notice in that chop that front fenders are rised up (and extended from down) for a 5cm to make space for 15" wheel.

Love the Photoshopping olli/Etienne, Thats pretty much what Id like the car to look like.
had some 'issues' with the red oxide though, I slapped it all over the bonnet and most of it fell off again, even though id given it a rub down with 600 grit paper quite well it just didnt adhere, never mind, ill have anothet go with some better paint.
On the plus side I got the lights done at the back today.

It might until you turn then on and the number plate light is nowhere near the plate. _________________

Etienne ?
why did you put them upside down and pretty much on the rear fenders ???
just fit them centrally between the edge of the plate and the edge ot the body...
Don't see the point in cluttering up a "rat rod" style car with indicators...

Bear in mind i only did it because A:ive allready got these indicators, and B: i was bored at work with half an hour to spare, I think I will cut another bootlid up and use it to continue the line down to the bottom and french the lamps into that, but leave the cutout in between the light and plate at the same angle, dunno yet, theres a lot of urgent other jobs the car need first! _________________

I'd be tempted to go for the old style rear with the number plate and lights on that sloping bit rather than the water feature new style. If that makes sense... Boot popper to get rid of the handle, maltese crosses, how about those funky little indicators a little more outboard on the wings? _________________ All these ideas...
