My second project, a Cimos Ami 8 Break that I rescued from some Gypsies for about €850:

The current state is quite bad, no battery, got no clue about the engine, the bodywork is almost totally rotten away...

Plans? Make it drive-able so I can get it home and then we'll see how it goes.

In a few months she will probably go to The Netherlands because I live their. But do not fear, where she came from she had no future.

Why? Just read the opening post! It's not that he drove all the way there to just buy a cheap car or rescue a common Ami. He drove all the way there because it's a rare car built by Cimos, no where to be found in france or holland Wink

Good Luck saving the car, erasmo

And why going to buy a Cimos Ami 8 and then modify it ? (because that's the idea, or am I not on the SNAIL forum ?)

Yes but I'm currently on a mission in BiH and stumbled upon it.

Because otherwise it would have been scrapped, and I'd rather have a custom Cimos than one on the scrapheap. And yes custom plans are in the making.

Yup but it's also a personal reason why I bought it, this car survived the reason why I'm here(the Bosnian war) and I'd hate to see it scrapped because nobody wants to spent some tlc on it anymore.

Some first impressions:

The outside is quite bad, especially on the left side and the roof section:

Also no mirror on the off-side, was that optional on the Ami?

The interior was also quite 'lived', the only maintenance ever done to it was just to keep it running:

The engine misses the battery but looks not that bad, but who knows what secrets may lay hidden under the bonnet:
