Haha my injection works it just needs some tuning.

I am using a v2.2 megasquirt with a throttle body from a citroen xantia 1.6
with 200cc injectors on a adapted manifold from a standard 2cv.
Pictures coming soon.

Next Wednesday it's going on the dyno for some fine tuning.
fortunately we have a dyno at my school so i can go there every week Very Happy and it is free

i just came back from the dyno. the final result 31.2 hp and 44 nm of torque Very Happy
and it drive's much better now

(don't watch the height of the car Embarassed it was to low for the dyno so i had to make it a little higher) but it's lower now Cool

Video of accelerating with Tinsku. Not fast enough jet, but maybe in next summer..?

Speedometer displays about 88% of real speed, reason of miscalculated lowering gear between speedometer cable Embarassed

Sorry about bad quality of video, but there is quite dark now and it isn't easy to shoot video when cornering in small road...

I am about to embark on a 2cv EFI project.

Everyday driveability and efficiency.
602cc with high compression pistons, 123 ignition.

Here are my ideas.
MegaSquirt-I PCB3.0
Innovate LC-1 Lambda Sensor
Crank sensor, Auxiliary Air Regulator, etc.
Modified original air intake, multi point injection, with 35mm throttle body and TPS. 2x 210cc Injectors

Will the 35mm TB suit the original manifold pipes, or perhaps 40mm?
And, What is a recommended injector type, 210cc?

Once i have the EFI running smooth i will look at adapting a small rhb32 IHI turbo and intercooler Very Happy

Thanks, this thread has been KICKASS!

Injector "size" depends how much power You want from engine. You can calculate it very easily, in Your case 2*210cc/5-> makes 84hp with simultaneous injection, and if injectors are separated then 210cc/5->42hp

From here You can find many answers to almost every question of injection...

I have totally too big injectors in Dyane, 337cc, but reason for that is I'm using now Jetronic just before I get Megasquirt there. It works fine with these injectors, but it takes too much fuel with them..!

Hello Harley,
if you use MegaSquirt just for squirting you need no special crank sensor. Pick up the primary coil signal.

A 35mm throttle body should be ok, remember how many hp did the scrapped engine with the 35mm throttle plate? ~40hp?
I got one with 38mm (Suzuki Swift 1000ccm) because I found nothing smaller. Later I scrapped a 36mm Daihatsu Charade plate, but never installed...

Have you thought on individual throttle bodies? If I had tiime&tools I would like to do it just for R&D. :) You could try to fit 2 TBI units of AX10/Uno45/Panda or so

Wideband O2 sensor is nice at air cooled engines, check also JAW (Just Another Wideband) which might be ok for you.

The 210ccm injectors rather big. Try to find injectors of a ~75hp ~1.4l engine -->75/2 = 37.5hp. But not more than 90hp otherwise you could get some troubles at idle speed.

Hey thanx !

Yeah thanx for the heads up on the crank sensor, i now realise.

mmmh, individual throttle bodies, thats what my brother keeps saying! He's the engineer, works on high spec jap street cars... and Dinosaurs Shocked i like the 'simplicity' & cost of the original manifold concept. If i can get this setup to work well then i'll look into it.

I think were on the same page with the injectors. 210ccm is the flow rate, 20 bs/hr = 34hp per injector.

I'll look into the JAW, price sounds good, assuming it wont be to hard to setup with megasquirt.

Hey Harley hey,

@individual throttle bodies:
theory says that this would bring more power because less friction in manfilod BUT less torque at low revs.
I estimate(d) you're one of the power guys and not a sooooft eco cruiser - at least most of the cars here in this forum look more like a 'rabbit' GTI than a snail.

If you have enough time you could find nearly all EFI parts for free, maybe some bucks to complete this or that.

If I would do individual bodies I would try to make a 2 way intake system. Each TBI should get a short runner + small airbox for high revs and a switchable (MS can do this) connection to a cross reference plenum (+air box) to get torque also at low revs.
The 'switch' could be the vacuum powerde but electical controlled flip-flop plate which is mounted in PSA TU engines (AX, BX, ZX, 205, 309, 106...) to get warmed or fresh air.

But if you sriously plan to make a Tubo snail it would be wasted effort.

@injectors:
A natural aspirated 2VC6 engine will not achieve more than ~40hp without changing cam shaft and a lot of hardware work --> 20hp at each injector!
When a turbo is plugged on you can estimate the doubled power. At least this got a German guy with 2CV+Visa engine -->35hp per injector.

It's easy to change injectors later, in general the BOSCH items are interchangeable --> try to find smaller for the N/A setup.

Hello Horst and welcome,
Isn't that your car or am I making a mistake?

OK, you got me! Embarassed

Anyway, I have to say that when I first get introduce to Megasquirt a few years ago, I search for citroen flat-twin on MS success story, and you were (and still are) the only one I found.
I tried hard to translate because you documented this quite a lot. But my german (or should I say austrian?) is poor, at the least, and babel fish technicaly limited. So I am still a bit frustrated, BUT I guess I should start a MS project, and see as I go!

Hey You who have Megasquirt in Your Snail. Can You put Your VE-table and other settings here/PM/e-mail..?

Maybe next week (if I get all parts) I'm starting to get Jetronic out and put Megasquirt to my Dyane. Let's see what happens, are pistons melting or does everything just go well...
